Our Story

Owners, both Caron and Sean grew up in the small farming community of Reporoa in the middle of the North Island of New Zealand.

Married for 2 years and living in Papamoa at the time, the opportunity came up to purchase a tired Holiday Park in Coromandel Town.

Arriving in Coromandel on the 30th April 1999, a week off having their first child, Caron and Sean began their journey as holiday park owners and managers at what was known then as the Coromandel Holiday Park.

Caron a trained Nurse and Sean a Plumber, they each bought valuable skills to their new profession.

The first few months involved major landscaping, renovation, updating the existing units, learning to work with each other and understanding the demands of their new profession along with having their first child Logan.

2 years on, Sara their second child came into the world.

Over the next 4 to 6 years the park occupancy grew slowly and Caron supplemented their income by working as a nurse in Coromandel Town 3 days per week while Sean managed the park and the kids. This situation was not ideal so it was time to rethink.

The marketing plan was always to become a TOP 10 park. In the summer of 2012 the Coromandel Holiday Park bought the TOP 10 Franchise and became the Coromandel TOP 10 Holiday Park. Along with this Caron finished work as a nurse in the community and focused on marketing and growth, while Sean started spending money and building the park, introducing the jumping pillow, heating the pool and refurbishing the units. They developed a 5 year strategic plan that included a promise to introduce something new for the kids each year.

The park has grown a lot over the past 5 years and they have a great team of staff working along side them to deliver a great experience to all of the Coromandel TOP 10 guests.
